With everything else going on at the time I missed (on 27th Sept 2021) the AEMO’s publication of this 21-page Final Report on what happened at the start of the year on 24th January 2021:
Related to this incident, I had already posted Part 1, (I seem to have missed Part 2), Part 3, Part 4 and Part 5 of my own progressive review and learning exercise.
Paul was one of the founders of Global-Roam in February 2000. He is currently the CEO of the company and the principal author of WattClarity. Writing for WattClarity has become a natural extension of his work in understanding the electricity market, enabling him to lead the team in developing better software for clients.
Before co-founding the company, Paul worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the Queensland Electricity Commission in the early 1990s. He also gained international experience in Japan, the United States, Canada, the UK, and Argentina as part of his ES Cornwall Memorial Scholarship.
Last week, the AEMO submitted a rule change request to the AEMC for a redevelopment of the ST PASA process (and data sets published – to facilitate what would be a great increase in market transparency).
The AEMO have published a third press release regarding low electricity reserves in NSW this afternoon – this time stating that the NSW Government is working to reduce electricity consumption within their agencies.
With respect to yesterday’s ‘Notification of Potential Gas Supply Shortfall Event’ and this evening’s tight supply-demand balance in the NEM, worth noting this AEMO tweet at 17:50 this evening: … which links to this short update on the AEMO website,…
This afternoon the AEMO alerted of a market suspension in the TAS region, which coincided with the failure of two undersea fibre cables that caused parts of the state to lose internet access.
