AEMO released Compensation Update for June 2022 events

I’d been looking out for this update until Allan flagged it here, so I thought it would be worth sharing with our readership the AEMO update on compensation for the June events:

2022-08-15-AEMO-Compensation-June2022

With reference to the above, it’s useful to reiterate that:

1)   One part of this report relates to AEMO directions during the events of June 2022 (i.e. the APC period continuing into Market Suspension);

2)  There are other compensations that the AEMC are determining; and that

3)  There are (at least!) two different theories for why such a large volume of capacity was withdrawn from the NEMDE pricing run.

I’m guessing that this will be read with keen interest!  On that note, Daniel Lee has something more comprehensive coming…
