Extended long-term trend of wind production statistics (to the end of August 2023)
For a couple of reasons, I’ve updated/extended the trend of monthly aggregate statistics for wind farms across the NEM … now out till the end of August 2023.

It appears that the NEM-wide wind production record was broken again, and then again, over the weekend. A quick look at wind output for each region to see the contribution.
Record for NEM-wide wind production nudged slightly higher on Thu 8th June 2023
Looks like we hit a new record for NEM-wide wind production on Thursday evening 8th June 2023 … slightly increasing on the prior record from 10 months ago.
All time record for wind production, NEM-wide, ratchets further on Thursday 4th August 2022
The ‘all time maximum wind production’ record has been increased again (actually twice) during this windy spell.

Saturday evening saw a new all-time record for aggregate wind farm production across the NEM.

Peak instantaneous wind generation record continues to tumble – higher still on Sunday evening 25th July 2021
The all-time record for ‘peak wind’ continues to climb, with a Sunday evening contribution pushing it higher again.
New all-time record for NEM-wide wind production on Saturday 24th July 2021 (above 6,000MW for the first time)
Saturday evening 25th July 2021 saw the instantaneous production from wind farms across the NEM surge past 6,000MW for the first time and set a new ‘all-time’ record that’s substantially higher than the previous record (set only a few days beforehand).
Blowing a gale across SE Australia … but July has not (yet?) hit a new peak instantaneous wind output record
A quick look at monthly stats shows that, whilst it’s been blowing a gale in SE Australia in recent days, it’s not yet set a new ‘peak instantaneous wind farm output’ record.
A new all-time maximum for coincident wind production across the NEM late on Tuesday 25th May
Last night, in addition to the dramas unfolding in the QLD region, we set a new record for coincident NEM-wide wind production – eclipsing the prior record from exactly 6 weeks ago.

Yesterday (on Fri 21st Aug 2020) we saw a new record set for BOTH daily peak instantaneous output across all wind farms in the NEM, and also daily average output across all wind farms in the NEM.
