For today (Thursday 2nd April 2026) we’ve already noted:
Part 1) the ‘(Close to) Full Load trip of Kogan Creek early on Thursday 2nd April 2026’;
Part 2) … which we saw in this ‘first look at the frequency performance, with today’s trip at Kogan Creek’.
Part 3) We have also noted peeled the first layer of ‘What helped (and what didn’t help) to contain the frequency drop with this morning’s Kogan trip?’
Part 4) We then took ‘A quick look at Dispatch Error for each individual Coal Unit (at 03:05 on Thursday 2nd April 2026)’.
So in Part 5, we’ll do the same for all Wind Farm Units (i.e. the Semi-Scheduled ones only … because we can’t calculate Dispatch Error for the new Non-Scheduled units):
With this chart:
1) There are 84 units shown, in alphabetical order
2) Something quite strange is going on with Macarthur Wind Farm
(a) With a large and continuous under-performance
(b) So we take a closer look in Part 6 here.
3) With the rest of the units, eyeballing they appear reasonably balanced:
(a) prices were healthy in all regions (we see in Part 1), so lower incidence of Semi-Dispatch Cap
(b) so less risk of the the one-sided nature of the Semi-Dispatch Cap cruelling the frequency further.
