No, it looks like the entry for Waratah BESS was a Data Entry Error?

At 08:14 (NEM time) on Wednesday 14th January 2026 we posted a short article ‘Late January testing planned for a problem transformer at Waratah BESS?’ after seeing a change in the MT PASA DUID Availability data set in the update for 18:00 the prior evening (Tuesday 13th January 2026) … being the last data update AEMO published for the day:

At the time of that article:

  • We’d checked for News from Akaysha Energy here to see if we could understand more:
    • No news was there at the time (and no more news till this point)
    • And we’d noted that in the article.
  • And we’d actually contacted some people at Akaysha directly to check for errors (but did not hear back).

But then we moved onto other things…

This morning we notice the swatch of non-red cells has disappeared from the current data set in the ‘Generator Outages’ widget in ez2view:

Opening up the ‘Forecast Convergence’ widget in ez2view (in order to see successive data updates from AEMO of the MT PASA DUID Availability data set*), we see the following:

* alas, still for Scheduled units only, with Semi-Scheduled units being invisible (and no recommendation to change this in the Final Report of the Nelson Review)

In this zoomed-in view:

1)  We see:

(a)  that it’s only a single data update cycle by AEMO (i.e. for 18:00 on Tuesday 13th January 2026) that contained the non-red (i.e. non-zero) cells

(b)  the next row up (i.e. for 09:00 on Wednesday 14th January 2026, which was ~45 minutes after yesterday’s article was published) shows that we’re back to zeros.

2)  So my first guess is:

(a)  that that solitary entry was just a result of some data entry error?

(b)  which was corrected pretty quickly, upon the participant recognising the error.
