I don’t have time to delve into this rabbit hole at this point, but other analysis that I’m posting soon made me wonder about Queanbeyan BESS, so I’ve used the ‘Trends Engine’ in ez2view to quickly post this:
Paul was one of the founders of Global-Roam in February 2000. He is currently the CEO of the company and the principal author of WattClarity. Writing for WattClarity has become a natural extension of his work in understanding the electricity market, enabling him to lead the team in developing better software for clients.
Before co-founding the company, Paul worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the Queensland Electricity Commission in the early 1990s. He also gained international experience in Japan, the United States, Canada, the UK, and Argentina as part of his ES Cornwall Memorial Scholarship.
A question from a WattClarity reader this morning prompts this quick-and-cryptic review of NSW price volatility at 18:10 on Monday 20th May 2024, and particular output profile of Queanbeyan BESS
Following on from a similar review this time last year, Dan provides an updated look at the economics and performances within the NEM’s big battery fleet, making use of our recently released GSD2024.
Elon Musk’s ‘100 days or it’s free’ offer was made almost exactly 7 years ago – how much longer or shorter have battery development delivery times changed since then?
I noticed that in the https://nemoutages.com.au/mtpasa, QBESS will be out of action until 2029/01/13 which is a fairly decent time away without market participation given that its only been fully operating at full capacity around Jan-Feb 2023.
To clarify my earlier comment: I’m basing this observation on publicly available MTPASA data at the time of writing. As far as the eye can see with the data available to the public, QBESS shows as unavailable until 2029/01/13. I acknowledge there may be additional information not reflected in public datasets.
