This is another belated and back-dated article… with the back-dating done so the ordering of everything in the ISP category on WattClarity is in correct date order.
… however note that the report is only dated as ‘January 2024’ so we’ve had a stab at making it 31st January 2024.
It was linked from this ‘Additional Documents’ page for the Select Committee on Energy Planning and Regulation in Australia, and I’ve just come across it (on 6th December 2024) after much trawling, so want to make it easier to find in future!
Paul was one of the founders of Global-Roam in February 2000. He is currently the CEO of the company and the principal author of WattClarity. Writing for WattClarity has become a natural extension of his work in understanding the electricity market, enabling him to lead the team in developing better software for clients.
Before co-founding the company, Paul worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the Queensland Electricity Commission in the early 1990s. He also gained international experience in Japan, the United States, Canada, the UK, and Argentina as part of his ES Cornwall Memorial Scholarship.
David Leitch and Paul Bandarian present and discuss the model they’ve created which uses a maximum Sharpe ratio wind and solar portfolio for the 2025 calendar year, drawing upon data from the AEMO’s 2024 ISP.
One of the things I noticed on social media over the past week or so (emanating out of the current Senate Committee on Energy Planning and Regulation in Australia) was the the enhanced visibility given to the ‘Final Report of the the Integrated System Plan’.
