Victorian minimum demand drops lower on Sunday 18th December 2022

I was out-and-about today, but a string of SMS alerts kept me informed of the plunging level of demand – this snapshot I saved before the day was out, showing (at the time) a lowest point at 12:55 … however this was later superseded…

Here’s a trended view of three different measures of ‘demand’ using this query in NEMreview v7:

We can see in this query that:

1)  The five minute period to 13:00 saw ‘Market Demand’ reach a low point of 1,977MW (so 106MW below the low point set on Sunday 2nd October 2022).

2)  The thirty minute period to 13:00 saw ‘Operational Demand’ reach a low point of 2,195MW (so 90MW below the low point set on Sunday 2nd October 2022)

I assume that AEMO will be back shortly to confirm the low point for ‘Operational Demand’ officially…
