On Thursday evening 15th January 2026 we noted ‘4 hours after the trip of Callide C3 and C4 (return to service expectation pushed back to Saturday evening 17th January 2026)’.
Worth noting that:
1) These units are not yet back online (at Sunday evening 18th January 2026)
2) But that’s not entirely unexpected.
(a) on Friday we noted that ‘CS Energy issues ‘Statement of Outage’ that points to ‘control system fault’ (and mentions precautionary evacuation)’ and that that note
(b) and that note spoke to possible delays in return to service given they were ‘subject to change as we learn more about the incident and any remedial work required’.
Here’s an updated view of the ‘Forecast Convergence’ widget in ez2view at 18:00 NEM time showing the latest view of the same widget featured in the article linked above:
From this we can see:
1) We’ve marked the timing of the earlier article
… remembering that this widget allows one to ‘look up a vertical’ in order to see ‘that other dimension of time’.
2) There have been 3 different (small) incremental delays added since that time
3) With the latest seeing:
(a) One unit (C3) slated to come back online Monday evening 19th January 2026
(b) The other unit (C4) slated to come back online Tuesday morning 20th January 2026
(c) Noting that the order of slated RTS had been reversed in the most recent plans (not shown in the image above, users need to drill a bit further).
