It’s Wednesday 23rd December 2025, and this is a short note to highlight that Brisbanites have sweated through a night where the apparent temperature at Brisbane airport
reached its lowest point early Tuesday evening 22nd December 2025 (at ~27 degC at 19:00-20:00)
and climbed from that point through the night (reaching 30degC by 03:00).
Utilising this ‘Trends Engine’ chart in ez2view we highlight the trend of some summary stats through December 2025 to point out how this night stood out
Thelowest point for ‘Market Demand’ in Queensland overnight was up at 6,748MW (at 05:00 NEM time). We’ve done a quick* scan and that looks likely to be thehighest overnight minimum since the start of the NEM.
Next highest overnight minimum might have been back on Friday 24th January 2025 (at 6,655MW at 03:35 NEM time).
Looking past others in January 2025 (on the 23rd and 28th), the 5th highest overnight minimum ever was on 28th January 2024 (at 6,508MW).
