News articles (in the Australian) about losses at Zen Energy during Wind Drought

This is a short, belated, and back-dated article to reference three external pieces all related to the same story, which:

  • I’d noticed at the time, and thought I would endeavour to follow up on some things that jumped out to me; but
  • Time has passed so wanted to split this task into two:
    • Acknowledging these pieces together in this article now;
    • Whilst leaving any commentary until later…

Two articles in ‘The Australian’ Newspaper

At 05:00 (NEM time) Monday 24th March 2024 Colin Packham published the article ‘How Zen Energy – developed by Ross Garnaut – got caught by a wind drought’ that started as follows:

2025-03-24-at-05-00-TheAustralian-ZenEnergy-01

At 18:22 on the day he published the article ‘Others will experience our pain, Zen Energy says’, that started as follows:

2025-03-24-at-18-22-TheAustralian-ZenEnergy-02

Response by Zen Energy

It was on Wednesday 26th March (i.e. shortly after the articles above) that I noticed* this long response by Zen Energy on their LinkedIn channel:

* i.e. that’s the date I noticed it – so it may have been sooner after the two articles above that this was published.
