Linton is a Senior Software Engineer and Market Analyst, who joined Global-Roam in August 2020.
Before joining the company, Linton worked at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) for seven years, including four years as an analyst within their demand forecasting team. Before entering the energy sector, he worked as an air quality scientist in the Czech Republic.
With the benefit of more data available today, can piece together why there was the sudden drop into LOR2 territory on Saturday 1st February 2020 (something that alarmed me, and resulted in AEMO directing a participant to make capacity – just withdrawn – available again).
Recording a snapshot from NEMwatch at the 18:00 dispatch interval on Sunday 8th December 2024 to record the start of a run of volatility in QLD (and in NSW).
It’s not officially summer, yet – but it sure seems like it is across QLD and NSW. High temperatures drive some prices spiking up to the Market Price Cap in both ENERGY and some FCAS commodities as well…

Thanks Linton
Interested in the extended -$350 prices on Sunday 3rd. The circumstances and who set them?
