A very short article this evening (partly so we have something to refer back to later in future articles, and elsewhere) to record a burst of volatility in South Australia this evening – here’s a snapshot from NEMwatch at the 19:00 dispatch interval:

Actual Lack Of Reserve Level 1 (LOR1) in the SA region – 09/02/2023

An Actual LOR1 condition has been declared under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the SA region from 1900 hrs.

The Actual LOR1 condition is forecast to exist until 2030 hrs.

The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 567 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 360 MW.
