It only started operating under 24 hours ago, but it’s not been a great start to operations at Victoria’s new ‘Big Battery’ as it’s caught fire this afternoon (Friday 30th July 2021).
In the following snapshot from NEMreview v7 we highlight recent operations:
Paul was one of the founders of Global-Roam in February 2000. He is currently the CEO of the company and the principal author of WattClarity. Writing for WattClarity has become a natural extension of his work in understanding the electricity market, enabling him to lead the team in developing better software for clients.
Before co-founding the company, Paul worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the Queensland Electricity Commission in the early 1990s. He also gained international experience in Japan, the United States, Canada, the UK, and Argentina as part of his ES Cornwall Memorial Scholarship.
At 08:53 on Monday morning 4th November 2024, AEMO published MN119852 looking forwards to this coming Sunday 10th November 2024 and a (first ever?) forecast MSL2 condition for Victoria.
Back at work this week and (with curiosity getting the better of me) I have another look at what happened last Thursday and Friday in the South Australian and Victorian regions of the NEM.
