Pricing volatility on Friday 11th June 2021

A short post early Friday evening with NEMwatch v10 capturing the 17:00 dispatch interval on Friday 11th June noting price up above $4,000/MWh in all 4 x Mainland Regions of the NEM:

I’ve already noted earlier that:

1)  The 4 x Callide units are still offline due to delayed RTS on Callide B1 (which was expected today); and

2)  Yallourn has ramped down this afternoon … perhaps due to wet coal or some flooding effects;

3)  So a third factor, shown in the (filtered) fuel mix chart above in NEMwatch is the rapidly plunging contribution from Wind and Solar across the NEM.

Might be a bumpy evening, in terms of volatility?
