Hot in VIC and SA – but demand not climbing past the green zone

Not much time today to look in detail, but noted a few email alerts triggered in our office from NEM-Watch, based on higher temperatures in South Australia and Victoria.

However, in the following snapshot from the market today at 14:25 NEM time, we see that the regional demand for both VIC and SA has not even climbed out of the “green zone” which represents a mid-point between their recent lowest demand, and their all-time maximums.

Another cause to ponder where the demand in the NEM has gone – including these contributing factors.


And yes, as well, the NEM-wide demand stubbornly remains below 30,000MW.
