A beautiful summer’s day for South-East Queensland – in August

Winter certainly seems to have ended early in the mid-north, and we’ve skipped spring and ended up straight into summer.

Yes, in the NEM-Watch snapshot below (click on the image for a full-screen view) that is a temperature of 35 degrees Celsius this afternoon, in and around Brisbane (that’s 95 Fahrenheit for our US readers).

Not bad for a winter temp…

Note that, the whole of NEM demand today barely nudged 26,000MW – which is really just a continuation of the low demand levels experienced throughout the whole of winter, really – and certainly will make judging the winner of our competition interesting, next week – stay tuned for more…

Does make one wonder what’s in store for this summer – hopefully nothing like the dramas encountered down south in summer 2008-09Stay tuned for more on that one, as well…
