A number of things happened late today – with the trip of DDPS1 (only declare credible contingency earlier in the day) giving more impetus to spot price volatility in the QLD and NSW regions already facing tight supply/demand following the Callide catastrophe and LOR1 in NSW.

Today (Wed 13th Jan 2021) a high temperature alert published by AEMO for the Dalby area in southern QLD prompted a quick look at what the GSD2020 shows, in terms of high-temperature limitations of plant around the Dalby area.
Using the (hot off the press) Generator Statistical Digest 2019, we take a look across all 304 DUIDs to see how they performed through calendar 2019 in terms of large excesses in ‘Raw Off-Target’ in both directions. These results suggests implications for the future…
