System frequency during simultaneous trips at YWPS3 and YWPS4 on Thursday 16th October 2025

Following Simultaneous trips at YWPS3 and YWPS4 on Thursday 16th October 2025 we briefly inspect system frequency using the Global-Roam high speed logger.

Frequency dropped in association with the trips but remained within the NOFB.

The trips amounted to a coincident loss of almost 600 MW of supply.

The rate of change of frequency over a 500ms period was determined to be -0.07 Hz. Combined with the decline to only 49.9 Hz the impact on frequency seems to have been well mitigated.
