Also in the past week, on Tuesday 15th April 2025, the AEMO published both …

Its ‘Draft Report on Congestion Information Resource Guidelines’seeking consultation This draft of the Congestion Information Resource Guidelines

The 16-page draft report (and consultation paper) is here:

The 15-page ‘track changes’ copy of the Guidelines are here:

In this paper the AEMO writes:

‘AEMO received six submissions with thirty nine different items raised (both records for CIR consultations) in response to the first stage of the consultation. A number of submissions requested AEMO to conduct a full consultation on the CIR Guidelines, and AEMO released this notice on 12 February changing to a standard consultation.’

and the ‘List of material issues’ was recorded in Table 2 on page 8/16:

… you’ll need to read back into Section 4 of the report to learn more.

.

There’s more information about the 2024 Congestion information Resource Guidelines consultation on the AEMO website.   In particular note the publication on 1st April 2025 of this Notice of extension of time for consultation, which noted:

‘AEMO is extending the time limit for publication of the draft report on the proposal to 15 April 2025 because the proposal involves issues of complexity and difficulty described in more detail in section 2. The next steps for the consultation are summarised in section 3.’

Discussed at EWCF meeting on Tuesday 8th April 2025

Coincidentally, in the EWCF meeting on Tuesday 8th April 2025 (i.e. a week prior to the publication of the above), amongst the other topics of discussion (including the ICF002 initiative) was the Congestion Information Resource (CIR), and the following two slides were provided:

2025-04-08-AEMO-EWCF-CIR-slide01

… and…

2025-04-08-AEMO-EWCF-CIR-slide02

Some of our team have been in consultation with the AEMO about various aspects of the operation of constraints, and this CIR (it’s especially topical for us given the imminent release of the ‘Congestion Map’ widget in ez2view + other things we have on the go), so have added these in for ease of future reference.

Key dates

The paper above notes these key dates:

  • Submissions due on draft report Monday 19 May 2025
  • Final report expected to be published Thursday 24 July 2025

… so that’s all for now…
