AEMO’s forecast for load shedding in QLD on Monday evening grows more severe

This is going to get worse before it gets better, it seems…

Updating this earlier article … at 09:34:22 the AEMO published Market Notice 97064 now noting the maximum load to be shed might be of the order of 513MW … that’s about 1/4 of the consumption in greater Brisbane, for context (though readers should not misinterpret – if it’s controlled, then the pain will be shared across the state).

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

The Forecast LOR3 condition in the QLD region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 97035 has been updated at 0911 hrs to the following:

[1.] From 1700 hrs 13/06/2022 to 2030 hrs 13/06/2022.
The maximum load (other than interruptible loads) forecast to be interrupted is 513 MW at 1730 hrs.

AEMO is seeking a market response.

AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time at which they would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.
