Was cloud cover the driver of the steep increase in ‘Market Demand’ at lunchtime in NSW on Friday 19th December 2025?

We already noted here the lunchtime volatility in NSW:

  • delivering earlier-than-expected volatility
  • due (at least in part) to steep escalation in ‘Market Demand’ since 11:30 NEM time

 

With this snapshot from ez2view featuring two instances of the ‘Forecast Convergence’ widget, we see that unforeseen cloud cover might have been a trigger?
