… but, unlike the previous 6 days, did not automatically follow this with one noting Administered Pricing for the FCAS services in South Australia would continue.
So it’s worth revisiting this ‘Trends Engine’ chart from ez2view, now expanded back to include June 2025 to show the trend of the Lower 1 second FCAS Price in South Australia and the accompanying Cumulative Price:
Remember that it was a particular network outage in South Australia (on the Tailem Bend – Tungkillo 275kV line) that was the driver of Lower 1 Second FCAS (i.e. a FFR service) needing to be be procured locally (amongst others), leading to sky-high prices and the Cumulative Price Threshold being breached.
So it’s worth a look ahead via the ‘Constraint Sets’ widget in ez2view to see when the ‘S-TBTU’ constraint set (which reflects this outage) might return:
As we can see here:
1) Plenty of other outage-related constraint sets in the Gantt Chart
2) With respect to the ‘S-TBTU’ constraint set, the next instance of this outage looks set to be next Tuesday 2nd September 2025.
