A short post to note (and possibly refer back to) a burst of high spot prices in QLD and NSW this afternoon, starting from the 17:10 dispatch interval. This afternoon’s price action is a continuation of a pattern we’ve seen earlier this week—already on Monday and on Tuesday.

He departed (and returned) for a couple of brief stints overseas, before rejoining the team permanently in late 2019. Alongside his work at Global-Roam, he has undertaken short-term contract roles as an analyst and researcher in various areas of the energy sector. Dan graduated from the Master of Sustainable Energy program at the University of Queensland in 2024.
It’s not officially summer, yet – but it sure seems like it is across QLD and NSW. High temperatures drive some prices spiking up to the Market Price Cap in both ENERGY and some FCAS commodities as well…
