This page is still to be updated, following release of the GRC
——————–
As noted here on this main page, the process for developing the Generator Report Card was commenced in the latter half of 2018, based on observations we’d made about the need for such a 20-year review given the rate of change overtaking the NEM. The Generator Report Card will be finalized and released in another 6-8 weeks
The order form for early-bird pricing is here.
In reverse chronological order, we provide some details about how the Generator Report Card has evolved:
In about 4 weeks
(current ETA is May 2019, shortly after the Federal Election on 18th May |
We are aiming to have this report delivered as early as possible in 2019, with data current to 31st December 2018. At that point electronic copies will be provided to those clients who have pre-purchased a copy.
Our prime focus is on the delivery of a quality product – one that will take big strides in answering the range of questions alluded to above. As such, we won’t be bound to any particular release date for the Generator Report Card 2018. We are aware, however, that some of the data (and the insights) in the report will be of time sensitive nature. Hence there is an incentive for us to get this to you as soon as possible (we also know we won’t be paid until we have done this). At the time of release, we will set a final price for the report – which will apply for those who have opted not to pre-order the report. We are not currently focused on what that final price might be – however we are clear that the value the report will deliver (when we have investigated concerns such as those listed above) will be considerably more than the pre-order rates noted below. |
26th April 2019 | As noted here (with the election day looming and hence our release of the Report Card shortly after that), on 26th April 2019 we delivered some printed copies of a draft of the Generator Report Card to several hand-picked proof readers.
We’re looking forward to their input. |
During 2019 | As our analysis for the Generator Report Card has progressed, we taken opportunities (sometimes linked to external events and commentary in the NEM) to post articles linked to the analysis being completed for the Generator Report Card.
Where we have remembered to do so, we have tried to link these articles to this list of some of the Metrics used in the Report Card. |
1st Jan 2019 | On 1st January 2019 we posted this article that spoke about the data compilation process having begun in earnest (with data to 31st December 2018).
The article discussed: In that post we noted some early insights about how the percentage of DUIDs subject to constraints is somewhere between 30% and 50% (up to 200 DUIDs affected each month). |
Monday 19th November 2018 | On Monday 19th November, we emailed out to our broader contact list in order to ensure that everyone was aware of the ability to pre-orders the report (before 31st December 2018) and hence not miss out on the initially discounted rate, along with the ability to feed into the analytical process. |
Monday 29th October 2018 | On Monday 29th October, we posted this article to alert our WattClarity readers to the development of our Generator Report Card, and to welcome pre-orders for the report at an initial low rate (only $900 ex GST).
We flagged coverage of concerns about a range of different aspects of generator performance: |
late September 2018 | Late September 2018, we commenced the compilation of a range of Key Performance Indicators relevant to various aspects of generator performance – importantly focusing on metrics for which there would be NEM-wide availability of data relevant to the calculation and trending of those KPIs.
In doing this, we engaged a number of third parties to contribute to our KPI identification process. |
Don’t forget that you can secure the early-bird pricing if you submit your order prior to the release of the Report Card.
