A quick article late on Wednesday afternoon 10th December 2025 with two charts from an extract of our higher-speed (i.e. at 0.1 second cadence) frequency readings from one of our devices in Brisbane:
We can see that the frequency weakened late in the afternoon, falling down towards the Normal Operating Frequency Band. So we zoom into the 1 hour timescale surrounding this to see more:
As we can see in this zoomed-in view:
The weakness begins in the 16:50 dispatch interval (NEM time) and progresses from that point;
With the 17:00 dispatch interval particularly pronounced; and

In this article we inspect power deviations from dispatched units that would have contributed to the frequency rise, and the deviations that would have contributed to the correction.
We follow on from A 292MW drop in “Market Demand” in Tasmania, on Saturday 16th August 2025 enlisting this “Part 2” to understand the sequence of events using 4-second data.
To further understand the frequency drop we delve into the 4-second data (used for regulation FCAS contribution calculations) in this Part 2, looking at generating units (including BDUs).
A quick initial look at two lengthy periods of Non-Conformance at Aldoga Solar Farm on Sunday 12th October, with the first period seeing large negative Dispatch Error, and a blip in system frequency.
