582MW (instantaneous?) drop in ‘Market Demand’ in Victoria delivers large System Frequency spike – Thursday 10th April 2025

A short initial article to note a large 582MW drop in ‘Market Demand’ in Victoria this morning (Thursday 10th April 2025) – as captured in this ‘Notification’ alert in ez2view at 08:31 (NEM time) this morning:

There’s been a few cases recently that we’ve noted about >400MW changes in ‘Market Demand’ that appear ‘phantom’ (i.e. apparently due to data glitches) … but this one definitely seems real, because a rapid spike in System Frequency for the mainland lines up:
