‘Market Demand’ drops 401MW in 5 minutes on Sunday 2nd March 2025

At some point we’ll find the time to revisit, complete and publish the longitudinal analysis we commenced with respect to ‘large changes in ‘Market Demand’ in various regions’

But all I have time to do now is note another change greater than 400MW in a 5-minute period – this time in in Victoria to the 11:10 dispatch interval (NEM time) on Sunday 2nd March 2025, as captured in this snapshot from a ‘Notifications’ widget email alert from ez2view focused on these changes:

2025-03-02-at-11-06-ez2view-Notifications-VIC-Demand-Down-401MW

… and here it is in NEMwatch, for a bit of broader context:

2025-03-02-at-11-30-NEMwatch-VIC

These events are definitely growing more complex … at least in part due to the rooftop solar juggernaut rolling onwards.
