That’s some startling numbers:

1)  About 544,000 lightning strikes within 600km of Melbourne over a 12 hour period Tuesday 13th February 2024; and

2)  Wind gusts reaching 130km/h (helping to make sense of what happened with six downed high-voltage transmission lines + damage to sub-transmission and zone substations and so on).
