Victorian Auditor-General’s report ‘Managing the Transition to Renewable Energy’

A week ago we noted another round of ‘‘Blackout bingo’ in the media again this week … this time with Victoria and Yallourn’.

Our article related to news articles relating the discussion, in Victorian parliament of a report from the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office relating to the energy transition in that state, and particularly (in relation to the news articles) to the looming closure of Yallourn.

1)  On RenewEconomy, Sophie Vorrath also followed those other headlines and wrote ‘“Transition chaos” and “lights likely to go out:” But that’s not what state auditor-general report actually says’.

2)  In part prompted by this article, I searched a bit to find the report … and thought it might be useful for readers here to point directly to the 61-page report ‘Managing the Transition to Renewable Energy’:

(a)  A quick scan reveals that there might be a similar pattern used in labelling scenarios as used in recent iterations of the ESOO.

… so worth reminding readers how (with respect to the 2025 ESOO there are ‘Six different lenses to view the ESOO 2025 … giving wildly different perspectives’

(b)  Perhaps (time permitting … which is a stretch goal!) we might delve more ourselves!
