Following a series of Market Notices from AEMO with respect to forecast LORx conditions for NSW next Wednesday 22nd October 2025, we take a first look.
Unplanned outage at YWPS2 extended – return to service slated for 15th December 2025 (and may well extend further)
We noticed today (Wednesday 24th September) an ~8 week extension added onto the expected return to service date for YWPS2, which tripped offline due to 'LP turbine issues' in August 2025.
Unplanned outage on Yallourn Unit 2 extended another ~month (with new RTS expectation 22nd October 2025)
As a further update on outage expectation for the damaged YWPS2 (which tripped with 'LP turbine issue' on Tue 26th August) the latest return to service expectation is now not until 22nd October 2025.
