Yesterday (Sunday 12th July 2026) our ez2view software ‘Notifications’ widget alerted us that Tamar Valley combined cycle plant switched on, and the reverse alert triggered this morning (Monday 13th July 2026) … all up marking ~19 hours of operation:
I’m thinking that this is the first time in quite a while that we have seen Tamar Valley CCGT running
… possibly since August 2025.
So I thought I’d invest some brief time this morning to take a quick further look … firstly in the near-term, via the ‘Bids & Offers’ widget in ez2view to see what might be seen in the bid/rebid reasons:
There were quite a few rebids through the period of operations:
1) With the last one visible (prior to the next set of ‘next day public’ data) noted ‘valve failure’ and resulted in output being limited to 140MW.
2) We also see PASA Availability currently noting the plant will be available again this evening, so perhaps the intent is to give it a run again?
In the following ‘Trends Engine’ view within ez2view, we see this in context:
Those with a licence to the software can open their own copy of this query here.
That’s all for now…
