Another case of Semi-Scheduled VRE over-production (this time at 14:20 on Saturday 11th April 2026)

A short note for Sunday morning looking back at Saturday 11th April 2026 in this ‘Trends Engine’ chart from ez2view:

2026-04-11-ez2view-Trend-DispatchError-FuelMix

Note that this query spans two days because:

1)  For comparison purposes I thought it would be useful to extend back to Friday 10th April to also show the cause of the spike in frequency at 10:30.

2)  But it’s the incident on Saturday afternoon that’s of new interest in this article, as it appears quite similar:

(a)  There’s the single dispatch interval (at 14:20 NEM time) that’s highlighted in the comment on the image

(b)  But for completeness note that there’s a second incident (at 15:20 NEM time) that’s smaller

3)  In the case at 14:20, note that:

(a)  It’s collective over-performance of Semi-Scheduled VRE (which occurs rarely and so is notable):

i.  An Aggregate Dispatch Error for all Semi-Scheduled Wind Farms of –977MW (over-performance relative to Target);

ii.  An Aggregate Dispatch Error for all Solar Farms of –316MW (over-performance relative to Target);

(b)  Which collectively is –1,193MW Aggregate Dispatch Error of Semi-Scheduled VRE

(c)  Which is roughly the same in magnitude to what happened on Friday 10th April at 10:30.

More later…
