Australian Government vows to cut its emissions by 62 to 70 per cent by 2035

A quick note today (following on from the release of these two documents on Monday this week) to note that the much-awaited announcement has been made about our climate targets for 2035.

The DCCEEW website has the News Release page ‘Setting our 2035 target and path to net zero’ which notes:

’The government has set a national target to reduce emissions by 62–70% below 2005 levels by 2035. This target is ambitious, achievable, and in Australia’s national interests.’

There’s more details here…

That page links to this second page containing the ‘2035 Emissions Reduction Targets Advice Report’ (and supporting materials) from the Climate Change Authority.
