CS Energy publishes about ‘Upgrading Reporting Processes …’ on Fri 9th May 2025

Whilst we’re posting articles about generators in Queensland, worth noting that CS Energy published this Media Release on Friday 9th May 2025 which reads:

Upgrading Reporting Processes to Support the Electricity Maintenance Guarantee

09 May 2025

CS Energy will review and upgrade its reporting systems and processes to support the implementation of the State Government’s Electricity Maintenance Guarantee (EMG) following the completion of the first quarterly report compiled under the new framework.

This will include data governance and reporting of key performance indicators on statutory maintenance, personal safety, process safety, and plant performance.
CS Energy is committed to being a Safer, Better Business and has been undertaking a process of improvement that includes significant improvements to governance, risk and assurance.

Acting Chair of CS Energy, Jeff Seeney, stated that the EMG is a key government initiative to ensure CS Energy contributes to a reliable baseload power supply for Queenslanders.

“A robust system of reporting including statutory maintenance that is applied consistently across the business, and that ensures everyone within the organisation understands their responsibilities, is an essential part of delivering on the EMG,” Mr Seeney said.

An independent review, including an audit of all governance and assurance processes, has begun to ensure the integrity of performance measurement and reporting across all EMG measures.

This will confirm that the governance, data and reporting processes for the EMG are robust and identify any updates required to avoid misinterpretations of administrative or reporting requirements.

The results of this review will form the basis for a new, updated EMG performance table to be submitted to Shareholding Ministers as part of the quarterly reporting process.

“This review of our reporting systems and processes to ensure they are fit for purpose to deliver the outcomes sought by the Government through the introduction of the EMG is just another step in making CS Energy a better organisation able to deliver for the people of Queensland,” Mr Seeney said.’

The ‘Electricity Maintenance Guarantee’ was something that the State LNP Government announced soon after taking the reins in October 2024 (see the Media Release on 28th Nov 2024), and was mentioned at this QEC address in April 2025.
