As Paul already mentioned today, internal team discussion about this afternoon’s volatility led quickly, as it often does, to weather.

Here is a quick snapshot of the Melbourne BoM radar, showing a large storm moving across Victoria and NSW.

Could this storm have played a part in the transmission outages, leading to constraint violation and pricing volatility?

which were unplanned outages of “Lower Tumut – Yass 330 kV 03 Line” and “Murray – Lower Tumut 330 kV 66 line” respectively, as Paul has just posted about in more detail.
