Some good news I saw this morning was that Broken Hill might be reconnected to the wider grid (albeit on the temporary towers for now) as early as this Saturday 2nd November 2024 – via this LinkedIn update from Penny Sharpe, Energy Minister:
One of three founders of Global-Roam back in 2000, Paul has been CEO of the company since that time.
As an author on WattClarity, Paul's focus has been to help make the electricity market more understandable.
The sixth transmission tower failure within the NEM in almost four years, has prompted further questions about the physical network and its resilience to severe convective winds.
The GB01 unit (the back-up genset that has been supporting the Broken Hill area the past few days) has come offline overnight – early Friday 25th October 2024:.
