Some sizeable cycles in ‘Market Demand’ in South Australia on Thursday 6th November 2025

We’ve already invested some time to progressively explore a number of things that happened yesterday (Thursday 6th November 2025) … especially the (suspected data-glitch triggered) significant frequency ramp event.

But it’s probably worth recording an event that happened later in the afternoon – via this ‘Trends Engine’ chart from ez2view:

We see two distinct (and significant) cycles of ‘Market Demand in South Australia between 14:00 and 16:00 NEM time:

1)  Which we saw at the time, through ‘Notifications’ widget alerts in ez2view … like this one at 14:11 for the 14:15 dispatch interval NEM time;

2)  And which we assumed to be*, at the time, related to rooftop PV and some sort of ‘disappearance of cloud cover’ issue around Adelaide.

* though there may be other explanations.
