Eraring Unit 3 comes offline early Thursday 2nd October 2025 – on the (delayed) short-notice maintenance outage

In recent weeks, we’ve written several times about a short-notice outage required at ER03 – which appears to be due to issues on one of the unit’s ID fans.

So it made sense to wrap the story up with a note that the unit came offline this morning Thursday 2nd October 2025 – as captured at the time in this ‘Notification’ widget alert in ez2view:

So an updated view of the expectations for Availability in PD/ST PASA within ‘Forecast Convergence’ widget in ez2view is as follows:

2025-10-02-at-08-10-ez2view-ForecastConvergence-ER03

With respect to this image:

1)  Remember that it allows one to ‘look up a vertical’ in order to see ‘that other dimension of time’.

2)  And is showing the the new PDPASA/STPASA data published (which went live from 31st July 2025).

3)  So we can see that (following the article of 6 days ago) it was this Tuesday 30th September 2025 when the decision was made to bring the unit off a day earlier than tomorrow (i.e. Thursday 2nd October 2025 )

4)  And is planned to be out for at least until the end of the ST PASA run (i.e. offline into next Thursday 9th October 2025)

… if we check into the MT PASA DUID Availability data in the ‘Generator Outages’ widget in ez2view, we see the expected return to service is sometime on Monday 13th October 2025:

Completing the quick picture (at least for now) here’s a view of recent bids in the ‘Bids & Offers’ widget in ez2view (layout tweaked slightly in an in-development v9.14.* version I’m testing out at present):
