We can see this in the broader context of a ~500MW ramp and subsidence in ‘Market Demand’ in the afternoon via NEMwatch … perhaps due to cloud cover passing?

The problem actually started about 1pm. Note the slope on the operational demand curve starts to get very steep. A quick look at the BOM satellite images shows a nice bank of cloud pushing up the gulf then sweeping over Adelaide. The joys of uncontrolled, weather dependant generation.
