2025-11-07 long unplanned outage at Waratah BESS?
In mid-to-late October 2025, Waratah BESS experienced what’s been described as a ‘Catastrophic Failure’ of one of its three station transformers.
This appears to have been during, or shortly afterwards, Hold Point 5 testing during which the unit was operating at full load.
However it was only on Friday 7th November 2025 that we became aware that something significant had happened:
1) Via changes in MT PASA DUID Availability data
2) Which prompted us to write ‘What’s up with Waratah BESS (unplanned outage till 3rd May 2026)?’.
