As noted in this earlier article (with a snapshot of the ‘Generator Outages’ widget in ez2view) there are three of the Yallourn Units offline on Monday morning 16th June 2025.
YWPS3 … RTS steady, at Saturday 28th June
Last week (on Tue 10th June) we’d written about ‘Unplanned outage at YWPS3 (tube leak) extended (due to air duct collapse)’ … and noted then an expected return to service date of Saturday 28th June 2025.
So we see from the ‘Generator Outages’ widget today that this expectation still holds.
YWPS4 … still offline (with outage extended)
In that article on 10th June, we also saw that Yallourn 4 was offline, with:
- an expectation that it would be back by Sunday 15th June 2025,
- and no visibility of days before then in the MT PASA DUID Availability data due to the cadence of the data updates from the AEMO.
Well, the unit’s still off … so we take a look in the ‘Bids & Offers’ widget in ez2view and see ‘HGOT outage extended’ as a rebid reason submitted at 14:53 on Friday 13th June 2025, and nothing since that time:
Note that:
1) I have not checked ‘that other dimension of time’ to look at the specifics of the Friday time when that bid was submitted, but the snapshot of ‘Generator Outages’ here shows that the expectation (as at 18:00 on Saturday 14th June 2025) was that the unit would be back for Wednesday 18th June 2025.
2) Looking forward to 31st July 2025, when new ST PASA data goes live that (with ez2view v9.12 or above) will make this type of question easier.
YWPS1 … offline for tube leak
Finally, here’s the ‘Bids & Offers’ widget in ez2view and see ‘tube leak’ as a rebid reason submitted from 18:50 on Sunday 15th June 2025:
