It’s one of the products we provide, striving to make the complexity of the energy market more understandable to a diverse range of participants, spectators and commentators.

We try to remain agnostic to the technology used in energy supply, and the comments on this site (including this article) are intended to be read in this light.

We know that our diverse client base shares a range of views:

1)  With respect to the degree to which renewables (and other particular technologies) should be supported, and
2)  With respect to the degree to which government policy should support/promote carbon reduction.
It is not our role to be involved in either of those policy decisions.

In whatever form policy support evolves for renewables development, and for carbon reduction, we will continue to focus on how this is intersecting with the dynamics of energy supply.

Paul McArdle
Paul was one of the founders of Global-Roam in February 2000. He is currently the CEO of the company and the principal author of WattClarity. Writing for WattClarity has become a natural extension of his work in understanding the electricity market, enabling him to lead the team in developing better software for clients. Before co-founding the company, Paul worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the Queensland Electricity Commission in the early 1990s. He also gained international experience in Japan, the United States, Canada, the UK, and Argentina as part of his ES Cornwall Memorial Scholarship.
