Curiosity (part triggered by some conversations I noticed on social media) drove me to have a look at the implied ROCDOWN in the AEMO 4-second data for the 5 facilities (10 DUIDs) involved in rapid ramp down on Tuesday 13th February 2024.
An unfolding story, on Tuesday afternoon 13th Feb 2024 – with all 4 x Loy Yang A units tripping.
Alerted to a price spike at 09:45 this morning in the QLD region, we discovered some reduction in load (spot-exposed Demand Response probably) and also a large collective trip in Solar Farm output (reasons unclear).
A quick look at the two units tripping at 13:33 on Sunday 7th June 2020, and some earlier operational problems the day before (perhaps unrelated).

At 23:05 on Saturday 9th March AEMO advised that the Millmerran power station units 1 and 2 tripped simultaneously at 22:07 (58 minutes prior) – for reasons still unknown.
