Second SIPS testing completed at Waratah Super Battery on Friday afternoon 11th September 2026

On Wednesday we saw the Waratah Super Battery test its full SIPS capability for the first time. Now earlier today we see that unit has completed a second SIPS test, running for roughly two hours in the early afternoon.

Source: ez2view’s Unit Dashboard widget, trended over the three days to 11th September 2026, with data for the 13:05 dispatch interval highlighted in the right table.

In the ez2view screenshot above we can see that power was held at around 700 MW for roughly two hours, then later the unit swung the other way and charged at close to its full 850MW load capacity for a short period in the late afternoon, at 16:20.

With two successful tests of the full 700MW SIPS capability now completed inside a week, and the unit also demonstrating its full charge capability, it would seem the Waratah Super Battery may be inching closer to commercial operations.
