Now that it’s Friday 26th December 2025 and we can look at ‘next day public data’ I took a quick look with ‘Bids & Offers’ widget in ez2view to see what else was visible:
Plenty of reference to ‘auxiliary plant failure’ in the rebids, which is seeming to limiting its capability to low load operations, including for the week ahead. So this story is not over, yet.
Paul was one of the founders of Global-Roam in February 2000. He is currently the CEO of the company and the principal author of WattClarity. Writing for WattClarity has become a natural extension of his work in understanding the electricity market, enabling him to lead the team in developing better software for clients.
Before co-founding the company, Paul worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the Queensland Electricity Commission in the early 1990s. He also gained international experience in Japan, the United States, Canada, the UK, and Argentina as part of his ES Cornwall Memorial Scholarship.
References to WattClarity in today’s session of the Senate Committee on Energy Planning and Regulation in Australia (between Matt Canavan and Daniel Westerman) spiked our interest – and, given the topic was NSW unit outages on Wednesday 27th November 2024, we took a quick look.
On my commute this morning (Friday 3rd Oct 2025), I noticed this update on LinkedIn yesterday evening from the team at Delta Electricity, speaking about their annual shutdown at Vales Point 5.
