A +460MW jump in NSW demand to 13:10 on Saturday 20th December 2025

Our ez2view ‘Notification’ widget alert triggered this alert with respect to a +460MW jump in ‘Market Demand’ in NSW on Saturday afternoon to 13:10 (NEM time) on 20th December 2025, and it seemed that it might be worth documenting, for future reference:

To provide some initial context, here’s a collage of 4 widgets in ez2view that are time-travelled to the 13:05 dispatch interval (NEM time):

… and here are the same 4 widgets, stepped forward to the 13:10 dispatch interval (NEM time):

Note that aggregate metered output from ‘Large Solar’ in NSW has dropped over that period, so it might be that rooftop PV might have also dropped in the same period:

1)  I have not checked;

2)  But, were this the case, it would be a reason why ‘Market Demand’ would jump.
