David Dixon speaks again about the large gap between aspiration and reality

We’ve not long wrapped up a couple of busy days associated with  All Energy 2025 and other activities in Melbourne.

I’ve already posted about ‘The ‘Reform of the NEM’ session at the tail end of Day 2 of All Energy 2025’ … but these were not the only presentations of interest.  Earlier on Day 2 in the ‘National Electricity Markets’ session there were a number of interesting presentations, including one from David Dixon.

Now i’ve hear Rystad present three times within the past two months:

 

Now, we might come back later to more of what David presented, but I thought it would be useful this week to present this slide that helped illustrate the gap between aspiration and reality, in terms of new capacity additions (especially with respect to wind farms):
