Bruce Mountain (at NEMdev 2025) spoke to his significant concerns about the ISP

A week ago, we attended (and I spoke on 8th October at) the NEMdev conference in Brisbane, and it was a good experience:

1)  Dan Lee’s already written highlighted the ‘Three themes from NEMdev 2025’ that jumped out to him

2)  I’ve already posted ‘Some suggestions for the Nelson Review panel to consider (with respect to Forecasting) following review of the Draft Report’.

At the end of my article, I noted that some of the other speakers included some comments about the ISP.

1)  One of these was Sarah Lawley, as noted here;

2)  Another of these was Bruce Mountain who (noting Dan’s comment about Bruce’s comments being ‘provocative’) presented the following suggestions about (his views on) how to resolve the current situation:

This is not the first time I’ve heard Bruce raise objections related to transmission planning – indeed, back in August 2023 we posted about ‘The VEPC paper ‘No longer lost in transmission’, and the AEMO response’.

For those who are interested to know more about Bruce’s current thinking, best to follow up directly with Bruce via the Victoria Energy Policy Centre.
